Juice Feast Day 8 “Beginning a New Week”

posted in: Cleansing | 2

Shavua Tov! That means good week in Hebrew, yes it is the beginning of a new week, a new day, a new time. My second Juicy Shabbat came and went. It was absolutely lovely. The cravings I had been experiencing the first few days of the Juice Feast have for the most part past, which left a sweet spaciousness in my heart and mind to focus on the prayerfulness, peacefulness and deep learning of this Holy Day.

Shabbat is a gift I am so blessed to receive every week. On Friday afternoon before the sun set my Father and I went for it with Sophia (our Green Star Juicer) once again, and prepared all our Juicy needs for Shabbat including grape juice for the “Kiddush” prayer. So Shabbat, there was no early rise for me, no juice making, no running around. It was such a pleasant rise around 9 am. I felt a deep nurtured sense of thankfulness in my heart, permeating into my entire being, expressed through my words and manifested in the actions of my body.

After some prayers and some stretches, I enjoyed my first juice for the day with some words of wisdom from the mystic sages of another time. I learned a bit about how with proper intention one can ascend through the “Worlds” or the “Tree of Life” through the recitation of the daily prayers. It was very helpful for my personal prayers today and being in the Juice Feast, brought a heightened clarity to my mind which allowed me to get even deeper into my prayers and meditations than usual.

Before I go on any further with my personal ideas and experiences;

Let me share with you the juice experiments of today:

Juice #1: Lemon, Romaine, Spinach, Kale, Ginger, Celery, Cucumber, and Apple

Juice #2: Kale, Romaine, Yam, Beet, Red Pepper, Radishes w/Tops, Cilantro, Parsley and Apple

Juice #3: Grapefruit, Lime, Blood Orange, Tangerine, Tangelo, Lime and Garlic (Tangy and so good)

Supplements for the day:

1 Tbs. Spirulina

1 Tbs. Hemp Oil

2 tsp. E-3 Live

2 tsp. Bee Pollen

By the way, I did do a weigh in on Friday, and so far I’ve lost 5 lbs. My Father on the other hand has lost 10. I hear men lose weight more rapidly than women. Losing weight is not my focus. I do have weight to lose but I know that, for one, this juice feast will guide my body to its proper weight and two, my focus is to be a vessel of health and well being. A finely tuned instrument, and as long as I am taking the right steps everything will fall into place at the right time.

Speaking of vessels, today I was reading about the building of the tabernacle which was the dwelling place of the Divine Presence while the Israelites wandered through the desert for forty years. Every time we read about such vessels we can refer back to our bodies the “microcosm” and become aware that we too have such a capability. In fact I believe we are made for this purpose. Without saying much more that was another very helpful meditation while in prayer this morning.

I went on a long walk today, we live very close to the Willamette where there is a bike path traveling for miles along the river. I feel spring in the air and it excites me. I am a spring baby, and although I get excited at every change of the season, new life bursting forth is a very inspiring time. Every breath felt as though it was a rush through my entire being.

The cool, crisp air and warm sun on my face was so invigorating. My eyes would escape into the mystic shadowy places beneath the pine trees, feeling the pulse of life flowing up from within the earth. Everything felt and looked so alive.

If you can’t tell my energy has been great, I feel that expansive smile bursting forth from my heart and I know this is just the beginning.

With joy and enthusiasm streaming from my center, Blessings and Love, Chaya
